meet the cupcakeMAG {intern} Laura!
Laura resides in New Mexico and has an identical twin sister Lourdes that loves fashion as much as her. Laura has always had an interest in fashion. She took her first fashion design class while in high school and immediately fell in love with the creative process. She knew that fashion was the career for her. Laura loves fashion, reading and writing.
She decided to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree at New Mexico State University where she majored in Clothing, Textiles, and Fashion Merchandising. During her college career she was an active member of the Student Association of Fashion Merchandising and Marketing (SAFMM). Within three years she went from member, Co-Vice President to President. As President of SAFMM she coordinated and directed fashion shows. After graduation she landed an internship with a style website where she was contributing editor. She then decided to co-create two blogs dedicated to style and green fashion. She is now pursuing a Masters degree in Fashion at the Academy of Art University.
When Laura isn’t busy with school she loves to blog about fashion, sketch, read magazines, fashion books and chick-lit novels.

I really love the amazing tunes coming from the indie group, The Honey Trees... and their name is just the best! ;) Becky, the lead vocalist, has such a unique and lovely voice. A mix of melancholy, dreamy and all things pretty. You must definitely check out The Honey Trees if you are not aware of them already. They are coming out with a new album very shortly and other surprises!

Fashion is my addiction; clothes, handbags, jewels (real or costume), shoes.... all of it and I can never get enough! Have I been know to wear a cocktail dress to a play-date? Yes. To work? Yes. Red Robin? Yes! My out of control obsession with cocktail dresses would be tolerable if I wore them each over and over, but being the girly girl that I am, repeating a fab dress is not something I enjoy. Simple black sheath? Yes, of course I can repeat the classics, it's the "special dresses", the ones with verve, that only get a one time wear from me. Knowing that this was a crime against fashion to have such delightful dresses hanging in my closet, that would NEVER be worn again, I started swapping gowns with friends! This was our way to recycle and to save a few $$$ on dresses. I thought I was BRILLIANT, until I was introduced to Rent the Runway.
Fashion dreams started coming true as I zipped through the website! Really I wanted to try them all! My birthday was coming up and I needed a fresh party dress, but did not want to spend the $400+ for the dress that I wanted to buy from another website.
