Magnolia-licious Blog Hop - Black & White with a "pop" of color

Hi friends!! Hope you had a fabulous weekend, and that you're ready for a great week! It's time for a new Magnolia-licious Design Team blog hop, so if you've arrived here from the lovely and talented Barb, then you're in the right place! If not, pop on over to the Magnolia-licious Highlites blog for all the links to the hop. For our theme today, we were challenged by the Queen herself! Diana asked us to use black and white, with a "pop" of another color. Well of course mine had to be red.  I do love the color combo of  red, black, and white.

For my card, I used one of the brand new stamps from the Sweet Rainbow collection which is available right now over at Magnolia-licious! She is #264 Lying Tilda.  Now you might notice I only used half of her! I really like the entire stamp, but the top half of her is perfect for popping out of a frame! She's colored with Copic markers. I know her dress is the R20 family, and her skin is E11, 01, and 00. Can't remember what colors I used for her hair. Sorry!  For the frame, I used my new Cricut Cartridge, Elegant Edges.   For the sentiment, I chose to use a circle sentiment from Lili of the Valley cut out with circle Nesties and petite scalloped Nesties. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and that yummy bow was made with May Arts silk ribbon. I also added some Kaiser pearls in the corners for the finishing touch.

So that's it for me for the hop! Now if you're interested in maybe going shopping over at Magnolia-licious, leave a comment on this post and you'll be elligible to win a 20 dollar gift certificate to the shop! That should assist you with your shopping fun! I will draw a winner the weekend of the first as I will be out of town for the next week. Now it's time to hop on over to visit the oh so talented Suzanne. I know she's got something gorgeous for you to feast your eyes on! Thanks so much for joining us in the hop today!  Please be sure and visit the Magnolia-licious Highlites blog so you can see how you can participate and win a fabulous prize from Diana! Thanks so much for stopping by to see me today, and hope to see you back again soon! Hugs!

Magnolia-licious Design Team Wedding March Hop!!

Welcome to our monthly blog hop for the Magnolia-licious Design Team, sponsored by the generous and fabulous Diana! If you've arrived here after visiting my talented DT sistah Patti Jo, then you're on the right track! If not, you might want to head back to the very beginning at the Magnolia-licious Highlites blog.  You don't want to miss any of the fabulous projects and there just might be some yummy candy along the way too! This month our theme is the Wedding March Hop!!  So the projects are all to be wedding themed and contain a gift or package created using the fabulous Scor Pal.  I really had a fun time making this one!   For my project, I made the "wine tote". I think I made the handle a little wide to be able to get a bottle of wine into it, so I think I would put a couple champagne flutes inside instead. Wouldn't that be a wonderful wedding or anniversary gift?  I think if I really wanted it to be for a bottle of wine, I would attach the handles with brads so it would swing down for clearance.

For the wine tote, I used Bazzill cardstock along with Best Creation DP.  I used the #1 Vintage Tag Doohickey Die,   but I wanted a shadow for it. So I just glued it onto some black cardstock and cut it out myself.  I also used #18 Rose Leafthe flourish die which I don't see in stock right now, and #411 Elegant Heart stamp (which I adore!!)  Unfortunately, this set didn't photograph very well.  I think it's actually much prettier in person.

For my card, I used #168 Loving Bridal Couple. Aren't they beautiful?! I used colors that I think would work for someone getting married for the second time, or even an anniversary (especially a silver anniversary). Along with the beautiful couple, I used #411 Elegant Heart Stamp again. Together Forever is a Verve stamp. The lace trim as well as the ros on the bag are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the black paper doily was cut using a Cheery Lynn Designs doily die. The bow (of course) was made using May Arts Silk Ribbon from Stamp and Create.

I colored the images using Copic markers (E50, 53 for her dress, and T series for his slacks) and then I cut them out and popped them up for dimension. They are put on a frame made using a Martha Stewart PATP set.

One of the fun things about a blog hop is blog candy! So if you would like to win a special packet of goodies from me, please be sure and leave a comment on this post before midnight Pacific Sunday night, May 23rd. One entry per person please. Next stop on the hop is my friend and fabulously talented Barb! Thanks so much for joining in our blog hop today and hope to see you back again soon! Hugs!

Magnolia-licious blog hop - Easter Extravaganza Contest!!!

Good morning and happy Monday! Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! It's time for a blog hop to celebrate the amazing Easter Extravaganza Contest that is going on right now over at Magnolia-licious Highlites!! If you haven't been over there to check it out, I have to ask what are you waiting for?? Diana is offering up the most amazing prizes ever!!! There are three different categories, and you can enter one project for each challenge. That gives you three different chances to win prizes! Be sure to check out all the details over on the Magnolia-licious Highlites blog!  To celebrate this contest, the Magnolia-licious Design Team and the Magnolia-licious Challenge Design Team have joined together to have this blog hop. All the projects are spring themed, and we hope we can inspire you to enter the contest. If you made your way here from the fabulously talented Chrissy, then you are on the right track. If not, then you'll want to go back to Magnolia-licious Highlites blog so you don't miss out on any of the fabulous eye candy the Design Teams

have to offer you. (I'm sure there's probably a little bit of blog candy along the way too)  For my card today, I chose to represent category #1 - Full sized Magnolia images on an Easter/Spring Themed card.

I used the following stamps from Magnolia-licious #363 Tilda and her bunny, #560 Wheelbarrow, #449 Big Hoppy (LOVE this stamp!!!),  and Happy Easter sentiment stamp which is also new with the Butterfly Dreams collection. But I don't see it up for sale at Magnolia-licious right now.  The images are colored with Copic markers (I really do not like how her shirt came out - but just didn't have time to recolor another one. So sorry for the bad work!)  I masked off the wheelbarrow and airbrushed the sky. (colors listed below). Both Tilda with her bunny and Big Hoppy are fussy cut and popped up for dimension. I also added machine stitching and a cute little bunny charm (sorry I have a huge collection of charms and can't remember where I got these).

I colored the three Kaiser pearls to match the copics used on the card, and the bow is made using the Bow Easy and May Arts silk ribbon. The inside is simply finished off with matching paper. Now it's time to hop on over and see what my extremely talented design team sister and friend Barb has to show you! But before you go, be sure to leave me a comment on this post before midnight on Friday night, March 25th for your chance to win a $20.00 gift certificate to Magnolia-licious!! Thanks so much for participating in our blog hop today, and hope to see your entry to the contest over at Magnolia-licious Highlites!! Hugs!!

Magnolia-licious blog hop - Spring themed Mini challenge!!

Good morning, happy Monday, and welcome to the Magnolia-licious Design Team monthly blog hop for February!!  I'm the first stop along the hop this month, but be sure you visit the Magnolia-licious Highlites blog to see how you can participate in the challenge for a chance to win a magnificent prize from Diana and Magnolia-licious! All the hoppers will be listed there as well, so you can pop back there if you should get lost along the way.
This month we've got lots of "Mini" fun planned for you! The challenge is to use only Mini Magnolia stamps and make it spring themed! So I took that challenge and made a Mini Magnolia word book!  Now there are TONS of pictures to show, so I apologize for the length of this. But I'll make it worth your while to stay until the end by enticing you with a wee bit of calorie free candy!  Let me preface the pictures by telling you which images I used from Magnolia-licious:  Mini #268 Little Bunny Tilda, Mini #3027 Chicken Tilda, Mini #3028 Tilda with Three Flwers, Mini #452 Two Eggs, Mini #3047 So Spooky Tilda (with her broom cut off),  Mini #341 Tilda Blowing Hearts, Hippity Hoppity Easter mini sized images, #1 Vintage Tag Doohickey die, #18 Rose Leaf Doohicky die, and the Doohickey die flourish which I don't see in stock at the moment. Now here's lots of pics for which I'll be nice and quiet... (you can click on the pics for a nice close up, but please ignore all the mistakes!)

All cardstock used is Bazzill, all DP are from Nitwit Collections,  images were colored with Copic sketch markers (sorry...didn't keep track). The word book was cut with my Pazzle Inspiration first in chipboard, then in the paper.  I used various Martha Stewart border punches throughout, as well as some flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts and Prima. The glittered hearts I used are from Melissa Frances which I've had for about two years (I was so in love with them that I bought three sets of them LOL!)  Now it's time to head over to my fabulously talented design team sister, Barb! But before you go, if you leave a comment on this post before 11:59 Pacific, Feb 25th, you will have a chance to win #221 Ribbon Hair Tilda.

You can see her on a card right HERE. So please hop on over to Barb's blog and see what yummy creation she has to show you today. Thanks so much for hopping with us today, and can't wait to see what you come up with for the challenge! Have a great week! Hugs!!

Magnolia-licious DT January blog hop and some blog candy too!!

Good morning Magnolia lovers! It's time for another Magnolia-licious DT blog hop, and I'm the first stop on the list! Now I think our hops are always pretty special, but this month, it is especially so! Why, you ask? Well....our super talented DT sister Angie had a fabulous idea last year. She suggested we join forces and create a 2011 calendar for our amazing leader Diana.  It was such a fun project, and today is the day we're revealing the complete calendar!!  Now keep in mind.... there are only two people that have seen the entire project put together, and that's Angie that assembled it, and Diana who received it. So the DT members are all excited for this reveal too! As you hop along, each DT member will show you the page(s) that they created for Diana's calendar. When you're all done, you can visit the Magnolia-licious Highlites blog to see the pages posted all together.

I have two different pages to show you today as I created pages for both January and September. For January, I simply HAD to use #3071 Snowy Hug from the Merry Christmas 2010 collection. I don't see it in stock right now, but if you're interested, I'm sure Diana can give you an idea when she'll have it back in the store. The adorable image is colored with Copic markers (click on the pic to see it up close and personal - but be sure and ignore my mistakes) The papers are from Nitwit Collections and the snowflakes are made using Martha Stewart punches. I used Diamond Stickles on them and added a Kaiser flat backed pearl in the center. All the panels are machine stitched, and of course I had to add a silk bow to it. :0)

Next up is September. Of course I immediately thought of apples, so I grabbed for #3053 Apple Tilda from the Autumn 2010 collection and Peachy Tilda from A Little Yummy For Your Tummy collection. I just changed her peaches into apples by coloring them red.  I created the background with #428 tree with carved heart and just added some grass along the bottom. The papers are from Nitwit Collections and I added a lacy border from a Martha Stewart punch and a silk ribbon to finish it off.

Now it's time to hop on over to the amazingly talented Janiel to see her gorgeous creations! And if you get lost along the way, you can hop over to Magnolia-licious Highlites to get back on track.  But before you go, it's been a long time since I've given away any kind of blog candy. So if you leave a comment on this post before 11:59 pm Pacific time on Saturday Jan 22nd, I will send you out a package containing some Magnolia stamps. Thanks so much for stopping by today, and hope you have fun on the hop! Hugs!

Magnolia-licious November blog hop - Home Sweet Home!!!

Hi everyone! I sure hope you had a wonderful weekend and are ready for a brand new week! I did a demo Copic coloring table at our local scrapbook store last night and even got to meet one of our own wonderful  Magnolia-licious members! It was tons of fun!

So now it's time for a new blog hop from the Magnolia-licious Design Team!  If you've arrived here from the ever amazingly talented (and my coloring hero!!) Cheryl, then you're on the right track. If not, you will want to go back to the Magnolia-licious Hightlights Blog so you don't miss any of the fabulous creations!!

This month's theme is "Home Sweet Home"!! How fun is that??!!  I really like cute magnets for the fridge, so that's exactly what I made!!! I stamped some of the new images from the Merry Christmas 2010 collection that is available right now over at Magnolia-licious. I also used one from last year's Christmas stamps, and I even did one from the Yummy For Your Tummy colllection so I wouldn't have to take them all down after Christmas!  I simply colored them with my Copics, cut them out, and then coated them with Mod Podge to protect them. I then cut some magnets and attached them to the back of the image with Scor Tape (that magnet is not going ANYWHERE! Here's some closeups of the magnets.

I just stuck these on my magnetic white board in my scrapping area, and that may very well be where they stay! LOL! I love them!  Here is a list of the Magnolia images I used:

Now before you hop along, be sure to leave a comment on this post before the end of Friday, November 19th Pacific Standard Time.  I will be giving one lucky person a Magnolia stamp of their choice from Magnolia-licious!!  Now it's time to hop along to the fabulously talented Angie to see what gorgeous creation she has to show you! Hope you're having fun with the hop and that you'll join us in the challenge! Hugs!

Now You're Cookin' Magnolia-licious blog hop!

Happy Monday and welcome to the "Now you're cookin'" Magnolia-licious blog hop! If you arrived here from the lovely and talented Mindy, then you're in the right place. If not, please start at the Magnolia-licious Highlites blog so you don't miss out on anything! This month, we're all giving you a yummy recipe card/project of something that we enjoy making during the fall/winter. My choice is to give you a recipe for a Dark Chocolate Cream pie!!! If I don't make this pie every Thanksgiving, I would never hear the end of it from my family! LOL! It's so rich and creamy and delicious! I hope you try it and let me know what you think. The recipe is not my own, it came from a cook book written by Rick Rodgers, called Thanksgiving 101. I've gotten a number of good recipes out of that book and would highly recommend it to anyone. I always figure if I can get one or two good recipes out of a cook book, then I'm happy.

For my recipe card, I used several Magnolia images, the first one being this adorable Tilda, #386 Kitchen Tilda from the A Little Yummy For Your Tummy Collection at Magnolia-licious. I also used #516 Rolling Pin (on the inside, sorry - couldn't get a good pic), and the big label on the front with Tilda is also a Magnolia image but I can't find it right now. Please just ask Diana about it if you're interested. The stamps are colored with Copic markers and then cut out for placement on the card. Tilda is popped up for dimension. If you have a collection of Magnolia recipe cards (or want to start one) and would like to have this one to add to your collection, please just say so in a comment. If there's more than one person, I"ll just do a random draw for it. Here's the recipe for your enjoyment. Just click on the pic to make it bigger. Sorry it's a little blurry toward the bottom. The pic was taken at an odd angle.

Now if you would like to win some goodies, please just leave me a comment on this post  before 11:59 PM Pacific time on Friday, Oct 22nd. One entry per person please, and I will ship anywhere. Now it's time to head on over to see what kind of deliciousness that the lovely and  talented Patti Jo has cooked up for you! Thanks so much for hopping along with us today! Hope to see you back again soon! Hug!

I love draping spider webs and creepy music and tombstones in the yard!! LOL! If you made your way here from the oh-so-talented Janiel, then you're on the right track. If not, then please head back to the Magnolia-licious Highlites blog to start at the beginning.  I don't want you to miss any of the spooktacular delights the design team has cooked up for you in their cauldrons!  I chose to use this adorable #398 Sitting Witch Tilda,  the cutest bat in the history of stamps #479 Bat. The tombston is also a Magnolia stamp from the So Spooky collection, but it appears it's not in stock right now. If you're interested, please just send Diana an email and ask her if she's got some on order. There are tons of fabulous Halloween stamps in stock and available right now over at Magnolia-licious!

Now for the FUN stuff! Magnolia-licious blog hop Nautical - Sail away with me!

Hi everyone! I sure hope you had a fabulous weekend, and today, Magnolia-licious is having a nautical themed blog hop! How fun! Especially with all the adorable nautical themed stamps that Magnolia has released lately! If you arrived here from the amazingly talented Janiel, then you're on the right track. If not, you will want to go back to the start with the uber talented Cheryl! If you lose your way, just go to Magnolia-licious Highlites to continue on your journey through the hop.   I chose to use one of the cutest Edwins that I think they've ever released. He's Dangling Sea Edwin from the brand new "Bon Voyage" collection which is available for preorder right now at Magnolia-licious!  I also used #413 Pelican, and #739 "The tide always turns" sentiment. As soon as I received this Edwin, I knew I wanted to put him on a boat shaped easel card.

And fortunately, I had the perfect shaped card to accomplish that task!! The Cutting Cafe' has this adorable sail boat shaped card, so I just cut it out and turned it into an easel card. EASY PEASY!! Isn't it too cute?? It even comes with an envelope template!  I knew I couldn't use a paper with a busy pattern because Edwin would just get lost in the background. So I picked a nice and simple red and white polka dot digital paper along with some white and blue Bazzil cardstock to stay in the nautical theme.

When I made the easel card, because the top portion of the card is the narrow mast, I wanted to reinforce it so it wouldn't sag down from all the weight of the card front. So I just cut four strips of heavy cardstock that were a little narrower than the mast, glued them on top of each other, and attached it to the back of the card. It worked perfectly and added a lot of strength to the card. The stamps are colored with Copic markers, and Edwin is popped up from the card with dimensional tape.

Finally, I added a big white button topped off with a red gingham bow for the easel to rest against. That was it! Now for some fun stuff! If you would like to win a Bow Easy plus an assortment of May Arts silk ribbon (same ribbon I use on almost all my cards), then please leave a comment on this post before midnight Pacific on Saturday, Aug 7th. I will pick and post a winner on Sunday, Aug 8th. Now it's time to hop on over to the fabulously talented Suzanne! I'm sure she's got an amazing project for your viewing pleasure! Thanks so much for hopping with us today! Hope to see you again soon! Hugs!

Magnolia-licious blog hop - A day to celerate!!!!!

Welcome to the monthly Magnolia-licious Design Team Blog Hop!! This month it's EXTRA SPECIAL, because this is the kickoff to a big Birthday Bash! Magnolia-licious is turning two! So stay tuned for lots of fun! If you arrived here from the awesomely talented Angie, then you're in the right place. If not, then you'll want to start out at the Magnolia-Licious Highlites blog so you don't miss out on any of the fantastic eye candy all the designers made for your viewing pleasure! Also be sure to check out the Birthday Bash Blog!! I would like to give a HUGE shout out to all the Magnolia-licious Yahoo Group Mods that keep our world sane and lots of fun. They work extremely hard and deserve a standing ovation. I tip my glass to you fabulous ladies!! Now....If you've been hopping along, then you know we've all made explosion boxes! This is the first one I've ever done and it was fun! I made mine into a photo explosion box, so there's LOTS of room for embellies and photos inside. I will post the dimensions at the very end for those of you that want to know how I did it. Until then I will be quiet, as there are lots of photos to this one.

Lid to box

exploded box
I guess I'm back to my old ways as none of the three Magnolia stamps I used are in stock right now at Magnolia-licious. If you're interested, please just send Diana an email! So sorry!!!! So now for the fun part, if you would like to win a Magnolia stamp, just leave a comment on this post before midnight Pacific on Friday, May 21st, and I'll announce the winner on Saturday, May 22nd. Now head on over to the fabulously talented Becca to see what she has come up with. I haven't seen it, but I know it will be gorgeous! Becca's post will not go live until 7am EST, so if you're earlier than that, please be sure to check back to her later.
SIZES USED for my box:
cardstock - one piece 12"x12", one piece 10 1/2" x 10 1/2", and one piece 9"x9"
score each piece as follows:
12x12 - score at 4" and 8" so you end up with nine 4" squares
10 1/2x 10 1/2 - score at 3 1/2 and 7 same as above (you want nine 3 1/2" squares)
9 x 9 - score at 3" anc 6" same as above (nine squares at 3")
When this is done, cut out the four corner squares from each size so you have three different sized crosses.
After finishing them with your choice of DP, glue the center square of 10 1/2" to the center square of 12". Then glue the center square of the 9" piece to the center square of the 10 1/2" piece.
For the lid - with a 6 1/4" square of cardstock, score at 1" all the way around. You will have four corners pieces where the score marks overlapped. Make a slit down one side of each of the corner flaps, cutting only until you reach the box top. Fold flaps down crisply using a bone folder, and glue corner flaps securely in place with Scor tape.
Decorate and add pictures!
Please don't hesitate to email me with any questions. Thanks so much for joining us on our blog hop today! Enjoy your weekend! Hugs!!

First Annual Magnolia Archery Contest - A Magnolia-licious blog hop

Welcome to the April Magnolia-licious blog hop! This month's theme for our blog hop was to use the adorable stamp, #375 Right Through My Heart from Magnolia-licious! Diana has her on sale right now for $7.35, which is 30% off the regular price! She is also running a contest for projects where you use this cutie! Submit your creation directly to Diana at magnolia.us@shaw.ca . A random draw will determine the winner of two Magnolia stamps!! On top of that, the best entry will be the winner of the GRAND PRIZE which is secret right now, but I guarnatee it will be FABULOUS!!

So on to the blog hop. If you've arrived here from the fabulously talented Angie, then you're in the right spot. If not, you might want to go back and to the beginning at Magnolia-licious Highlites Blog. Our resident storyteller, Monica, came up with the cutest story for this blog hop. So I used her story as inspiration for my project. I have been wanting to build a stair step card for soooo long, and this is my first attempt. I will admit I had some serious challenges with this one. There was just so many skinny cuts on these images. In fact, I just noticed that somewhere during the construction of this card, I lost the tip of the arrow that Edwin is holding in his hands. :( But I still had a blast making it, and I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. I used a grand total of SEVEN stamps in this project! They include: #375 Right Through My Heart, #166 Sherwood Edwin, #210 Tulle Skirt Tilda (please ask Diana), I don't see the other Tilda with the bow and arrow in stock right now. Please email Diana if you're interested, #428 Tree with carved heart, #519 New Bench, and finally #606 Sign with Birds.

All stamps were colored with Copic markers and cut out for placement on the card. This was a really fun thing to make! I ran the sign through my printer to get the words on it. This has LOTS of dimension with I absolutely love.

Now for the fun! I'm giving away some goodies!! If you would like to win an assortment of surprise goodies, please leave a comment on this post no later than midnight Pacific time on Saturday April 24th . I will randomly select a winner on Sunday, April 25th. When you're all done here, please hop over to one of our amazing guest designers, Mindy, to see what she's created for you viewing pleasure. There's not a doubt in my mind you'll love it! Thanks for joining us for our hop today! Hope to see you again soon!
